DTAC — Nationwide Network Backup

DTAC runs one of Thailand's largest mobile networks, where a power gap at a switching site can drop service for thousands of subscribers at once. Keeping that many sites backed up — and maintained — is as much a logistics problem as an engineering one.

What the client needed

DTAC runs one of Thailand's largest mobile networks, where a power gap at a switching site can drop service for thousands of subscribers at once. Keeping that many sites backed up — and maintained — is as much a logistics problem as an engineering one.

Our solution

What we delivered

Across a relationship that began in 2007, PEC has built up 12,715 kWh of VRLA UPS battery systems for DTAC, each sized to its site's load and required runtime and rolled out site by site.

Why PEC

Why this project chose PEC

Standardizing backup across dozens of sites needs a partner who can deliver and service to one spec, everywhere, for years. PEC's nationwide EPC and maintenance reach — on C&D batteries it has distributed since 1995 — is what let DTAC keep the fleet consistent.

Outcome

What happened in production

The deployment now spans one of PEC's largest UPS installed bases and stays ready through scheduled maintenance; it has grown site by site since 2007.
